Privacy policy

This document explains what personal data we process when operating the Penzión Magnólia website and when handling reservations and communication with guests.

2. What data we process

  • identification and contact details contained in your email or phone enquiry, especially your name, surname, phone number, email and the content of your communication,
  • data needed to arrange a reservation and stay, especially the stay dates, number of guests, selected room type and any special requests,
  • technical website usage data, including IP address, device type, browser, visited pages and analytics cookie data if you grant consent,
  • data we are required to keep under accounting, tax or other legal obligations.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Handling reservations and pre-contract communication – legal basis: performance of a contract or steps taken before entering into a contract.
  • Compliance with legal obligations – legal basis: compliance with legal obligations, especially accounting and tax rules.
  • Protection of legal claims and record-keeping – legal basis: our legitimate interest in documenting and defending legal claims.
  • Website analytics – legal basis: your consent provided through the cookie banner.

4. Recipients of data

Personal data may be disclosed to hosting and website maintenance providers, email service providers, accounting or tax advisers, and public authorities where required by law. For analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics provided by Google.

5. Transfers to third countries

If you consent to analytics cookies, data processed through Google Analytics may also be transferred outside the European Union under the provider’s rules. In other cases, we do not intentionally transfer data to third countries unless this results from the service used or from a legal obligation.

6. Retention periods

  • ordinary email and phone communication: up to 12 months after the enquiry has been handled, unless it results in a reservation or another legal relationship,
  • data related to reservations and stays: for the duration of the contractual relationship and afterwards for the period needed to protect and prove legal claims,
  • accounting and tax records: for the period required by applicable law,
  • cookies and analytics data: according to your browser settings, your consent and Google Analytics retention settings.

7. Your rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interest and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic.

8. Cookies

The website uses strictly necessary technical cookies for its basic operation. Google Analytics cookies are stored only after your consent. You can change your preferences at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer.
